What are the hazards?

The top case may become completetly detached from the motorcyle.

What are the defects?

When the motorcycle is ridden with either the Genuine Yamaha Accessory Aluminium Top Case (23P-W0754-00) or a similar aftermarket product, the Base box may develop a crack and eventually break.

What should consumers do?

Yamaha will write to all affected owners.

Owners are advised to cease using any type of Top Case until further notice from Yamaha Motor Australia. When the revised base box is available Yamaha will contact owners to advise how to have the new part fitted free of cost.
