I have a 1983 853cc Yamaha XJ900 in good nick and running very well indeed. However it is far too fast and top-heavy for what I need. I cannot pick it up when I drop it, and it scares the wits out of me when the front wheel comes up off the road while accelerating.
I really need a low centre-of-gravity scooter or cruiser of about 250cc or larger that is equally reliable and is all I need for travelling around town with an occasional inter-towns run on the freeway.
There must be someone with a 250 who wants to upgrade to a larger sportsbike/tourer.

Hi all, well I've decided to sell the FJR and move to a cruiser. I love the FJR to pieces - it's far and away the best bike I have ever owned or ridden in every respect. But I feel the need to stick my legs out when I ride, and the other half doesn't appreciate the pillion seat with that much power underneath. It has about 23000 km on the clock and is in good nick, well serviced, etc. $13,900 or near offer. Will consider trade for a 1500/1600 cruiser 2001 model or later.
